Jewish Tours of Houston (JTH) provides tours and lectures of the sites past and present that have created and contributed to the Jewish experience in Houston and the surrounding areas.

JTH gives two, three, four, and six hour tours depending on the desires of the customers. Historical tours include visits to former standing temples and synagogues, former Jewish Community Centers (JCCs), cemeteries, delicatessens, bakeries, restaurants, the former Jewish Home for the Aged, old Jewish mansions, and locations of past Jewish institutions. Tours include descriptions of the histories of congregations and families, contributions of Jewish institutions, and the architecture of the buildings.

Contemporary tours include visits to active temples and synagogues, the JCCs, the Holocaust Museum Houston, Jewish private schools, public schools in predominately Jewish neighborhoods, restaurants, bakeries, delicatessens, Seven Acres Jewish Senior Care Services, commercial businesses, and other Jewish institutions.

Keith Rosen has lead tours of Houston since 1985. He shares his love of the indigenous Jewish culture, its contributions and the life of Houston with others. To know and to understand the American and Texas Jewish population and communities is to have a richer and fuller appreciation of the people, of the country, and of the state. One can respect and be proud of their achievements, their successes in the face of adversities and hurdles, and celebrate their indomitable spirit. L'chaim, to life.

Keith is a researcher and historian with an emphasis on American history, the Progressive era, and Jewish studies. He has taught with colleges and universities in Hurst, Denton, Dallas, Houston, and Melbourne, Florida since 1987. Currently, he is a professor of history and government with Wharton County Junior College and Alvin Community College. He has been nominated or selected as the teacher of the year four times.

He taught American Jewish history in Florida for the largest synagogue in Brevard County. Keith teaches American Jewish history with attention to Texas and Houston for Leisure Learning, and the Florence Melton Jewish continuing adult school in Houston. He was a featured writer for the county-wide Jewish paper in Brevard, focusing on historical and political issues of the day. History and Judaism are two of his greatest passions.

In his spare time, Keith leads trips that include hiking, tubing, spelunking, horseback riding, rafting, and camping. He also likes to play tennis and softball. He currently is working on a book about the history of Jews in Houston.
