The Tubes at the Medina Ballroom
Friday, May 8, 1998

I had the pleasure of attending a Tubes concert on Friday May 8 at the Medina Ballroom in the Twin Cities area. I just read the review for their concert in New Orleans and several issues seemed to be a common during their performances.

The Tubes should consider a different booking agent.

All of the above didn't matter when time for the performance arrived. The solid drumming of Prairie Prince remained a constant during the performance and led the band to outstanding levels of quality. The small crowd was responsive and very enthusiastic as The Tubes played their magnificent set that included the standards She's A Beauty, Tip Of My Tongue, Sushi Girl, White Punks and a few surprises like Amnesia and Say What You Want. They came back with Talk To Ya Later and everyone went nuts.

I went backstage and had the chance to meet Fee, Prairie and Mr. Anderson. Fee was unhappy with the lack of promotion and complained about the monitors. Prairie was such a gentleman and graciously accepted to have his picture taken with me. This was the cherry on top since I have been a Tubes fan for many years. Having the opportunity to see them so close and to meet them after was all I could have asked for.
