This is a picture of the 1948 GMC a few days after I brought it home.
It has a few dings but has very little rust and is adorned
with the Deluxe 5-Window cab which
got you corner windows and stainless steel trim on the
windshield and side windows.
The original seat is in great shape and the interior is
all there.
The dash is faded but in excellent condition.
This a picture of the nice running 248ci six cylinder engine.
Note the vacuum lines running from the engine to the firewall: these are
the source for the vacuum operated 2-speed rear end. Also note how the crank-case
ventilation system is tied in. The cylindrical object directly below where
the heater hoses go into the firewall is the vent for the original Hydro-Vac
brake booster.
This is the passenger side cowling with the front fender
and inner fender well removed.
Some of the rust has already been cut out in this picture
so you can see exactly the work it needed.
This is the cowling after it was fixed by me. I used no
bondo in this area, only the mig welder
and an angle grinder. The fender mounting holes are not
drilled in this picture but I'm
happy with the way it came out.
