Greetings everyone! My name is David Paul Hennessy. I'm an 18 year old student at the University of Ottawa, which is situated in Canada's national capital, the city of Ottawa. I'm currently taking an Honours in Classical Studies and a Concentration in Medieval Studies. I hope to eventually work in the field of archaeology one day.

My hobbies and interests are numerous and varied (i hope). First and foremost, i'm into anything and everything concerning ancient history. Anything from reading classical books to discussing ancient history is my passion. Naturally, i'm also an amateur of mythology, especially Classical and Norse myths, although i'm starting to learn about Celtic myths too. Stories of myth and fantasy brings me to my favourite author, the great J.R.R. Tolkien. His Lord of the Rings trilogy is amongst my favourite books of all time. Consequently, my favourite movie is also the recently released Lord of the Rings. But I also hold a special feeling for the movies Gladiator and Braveheart, both excellent epic stories. Epics are in fact my favourite type of story, for movies and books. My favourite literary epics include Homer's poems the Iliad and the Odyssey, and the Old English poem Beowulf. Speaking about these ancient works of literature brings me back full-circle to my love of ancient history.

My first friend that I should mention is my better half, the love of my life, an aspiring actress and very beautiful woman, Janine. *KISS!!* Love ya! I can't write in this section without mentioning my good buddy Steve. He's been my friend since 9th grade I believe, and we've stuck together for a number of years now! He's a psychology student at the University of Ottawa, and we'll actually get a class together next semester. There'll be trouble a brewin' in PHI1103 C! lol As for my family, i've got two parents (duh!), an older brother, a younger brother and a younger sister. My family on my father's side is centralised in New Brunswick, while my mother's side is centralised right here in Ottawa. My father's side is of Irish descent while my mother's side is of Norman descent. (And i'm hoping of Viking descent if I trace it back far enough! lol)
