Monthly Summary: What's up people? Merry Christmas and Happy New Years! Since we last interfaced Bush has won reelection, Iraq hasn't improved much, Putin and Musharaf while strong US allys, are unsurprisingly stomping all over democracy, and as you may have guessed, I got a gift subscription to the Economist. Thanks Grandma! Oh and I've grown a beer belly. I say grown because despite what you may think a beer belly is something that takes a good bit of TLC to get right.  Its no picnic, unrestrained eating could go straight to your face, but with a delicate mixture of overeating, DVD watching, and procrastination you too can attempt to balance food, books, or small children on your gut.  But alas, it has to go.  I have made a few New Years resolutions that involve reliving glory days.  I will be swimming for a local masters team and training to join my prefectural American Football team (full pads and all).

I have had a crazy two months since I last talked to you.  The main events were a trip to Pusan, S. Korea to check out what happens to hostesses when they get too old, heading out to Fukuoka to check out the the heavyweights in Sumo wrestling , and finally a Christmas/ New Years trip to Thailand to catch some sun and cheap T-shirts and luckily avoid a catastrophe.  So for this update I will be removing Wally's wedding pics so if anybody needs them shoot me an email and I can send you copies.  The
RANDOM THOUGHTS in good holiday fashion is about the Myth of Santa in Japan.  The RECENT EVENTS section has got choice pics from Thailand,  including New Year's in Bankok.  And the PICTURES section has more random pics from my life.  And once I clean up my place I will finally put in the picture of what my apartment looks like.  Well, happy surfing.  Don't forget to also check out my blog at www.mackistan.blogspot.com for more randomness.    -Jamie
