Rear Admiral A.J. Chegwidden

By Kimberly Knipp (MCK8686@aol.com)

What a helluva day this turned out to be. I’ve had my hands full lately trying to get Rabb and MacKenzie settled into a working relationship before they kill each other. I certainly didn’t need the added mess of an escaped spy. Corporal Magida showed up in my office big as you please and demanded that his case be reinvestigated – claiming he was framed. A damn prisoner in my own office! Hell, sometimes I wonder if I’m suited for this job. I knew someday I’d end up with a desk instead of a gun. The SEALs are a young man’s game. But I didn’t think it would be like this. Having my judgment questioned, wondering if I made the right choice. I always knew when I was on a mission. I didn’t have to question what I was doing or how I felt.

As much as I give him hell, I see a lot of myself in Rabb. He’s a doer. Sometimes that gets him in trouble but he follows his instincts and he’s rarely ever wrong. He took charge of what happened today like he was already in charge. I was damn proud of him for stepping up to the plate. He and MacKenzie are alike in that respect. She’s not afraid to stand up and take charge of a situation. She did an excellent job today with Corporal Magida. Rabb faced down Osbourne and I know he would have taken him down if necessary. A lesser man might have backed away from Osbourne’s threats. Rabb doesn’t particularly care who the person is if he’s doing something wrong.

Magida’s new trial was today and the judge overturned his original sentence. They applied the time he already served to the new charges and he’s a free man. I was grateful to see justice served. I’m only sorry that he lost eight years of his life in jail in the first place.
