Yassim, the leader of some group called Humas was kickin' it around a mosque in his wheel chair when suddenly fate reared her ugly head and Death acted with extreme overkill (a rocket's a little extreme... just a little).  People screamed revenge and promises of war.

And Israel said.......

"I said a long time that Yassim is a target for killing.  He was not immune," Boim said.  "We know that terror is a continuous war. It requires large and determined forces, and we will continue it."  (quote made by Defense Minister Zeev Boim of Israel)

This is why the "War on Terror" is a bad thing.  People just use it as an excuse to kill other people whcih just pisses more people off... It should be noted the response was to fire rockets back at Israel... What the hell was accomplished?

I'd like to be hearing Sharon's and Bush's comments on this one.  We all know that Bush will more than likely support it... We need all the support we can get in the Middle East right now... But I also wonder if this is going to be used as an excuse to raise our terror alert levels:  Muslims were targeted by Israel which is buddy buddy with us.   In fact, I wouldn't be surpried if there will be more "terrorist" threats made towards us.

Yet there are several reasons to be concerned here on this turn of the "War on Terror".  One, we're obviously losing.  Kill one "terrorist" and several more become inspired.  Two, this is the kind of excuse Bush could use to even send more troops over to the middle east:  uh-oh... we need to go help our good friend, Israel. Three, it shows Muslims in a bad light which gives people an excuse to dislike them even more.  Four, Bush could twist this in his favor showing that the "War on Terror" is a good thing (cold shivers run down my spine).  Five, it could possibly lead to more terrorist threats, givnig Bush an excuse to restrict our freedoms further or lead to more terrorist attacks here which could lead Bush to restrict our freedoms further (Kind of a Catch-22).  Last, but not least, we need to keep in mind how wars start.  WWI started with alliances and an assissination that lead to a bitch slappin' contest that led to WWII.  We just might skip the bitch slappin' contest and head directly for WWIII.
