OFFICIAL RESULTS

I ran for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and first and foremost would like to thank all those wonderful people who sponsored me in this endeavor. With your help, I raised over $3,000. YOU ARE THE BEST!

Here are some pictures of me along the course, and after the finish.

Here I am approaching the 10k point.

The 10K point. Still looking strong.

Kristy hugging me for support

Departing the 10k point ... only 20 miles to go!

Here I am approaching the 10 mile point. Reaching for my water bottle, I am still focused.

A hug of encouragement from Amy.

No more pictures from 10 to 26 miles. Kris and Amy headed for the finish line to cheer me through. I was running pretty good through 15 miles, when I ran into a good friend who ran with me for a couple of miles (Thanks Shelly). When I reached the 20 mile point, I was still running, although without too much enthusiasm. I had previously stopped to bandage some blisters on my toes, and MY FEET HURT!!!!!

At mile 22, I hit the proverbial wall, I "bonked". I was moving on instinct alone, and what I was doing can in no way be described as running. I was putting one foot in front of the other, that's about it. It took me almost a half hour to reach mile 24 when two angels appeared in front of me. Derrick (my mentor) and his wife appeared and offered to run with me on to the finish line. They pulled me through, and I can't thank them enough.

Now, on to the finish line. Here is a few pictures of me after the race.

Here is a pic of the finish line. I'm still about a mile out.

After crossing the finish.

After crossing the finish, I needed to sit. Quite a change from the fresh runner at the 10k point, don't you think.

My wife Karen, giving me some much needed support at the end of the race.

Here it is ... the medal I worked over 61/2 hours to have hung around my neck.

I changed into dry clothes about 20 minutes after the finish, and still look whipped. How long will it take to recover? And ... will I EVER do this again????????
