The Slater Home

"I have half a mind to go over there and just slug her a good one." Phyllis said angrily pacing back and forth in her living room; her mother sitting on the couch.

"That would be sure to give you some good publicity." She joked.

"After ten years… I just don't believe it. I was hoping she was dead."

"For once I think you and Charles see eye to eye on something." She sipped from her coffee and picked up the front page of the newspaper which had gotten Phyllis so fired up. Natasha Robinson to run for City Council.

"The citizens can't be that stupid can they? To vote for someone that's hasn't even been in town for over a week."

It was a miracle he was released so soon. Victoria thought as she looked at her sleeping lover. She was praying another miracle would come so that he would be able to speak again. She had hired a nurse to visit regularly to make sure everything was okay with him and had made calls about getting a person to help Trevor learn how to speak again. She kissed his hand and rose from the bedside. "Sleep well my love…"

The Robinson Home

Everything had been so chaotic this past week. Ethan thought hiding in his bedroom from the madness. When it rained it poured.

Sarah silently opened and closed the door. "I've been looking for you."

"Oh?"

"You're getting good at this hiding stuff." She sighed. It wasn't hard to see that she had not slept well over the past week. The circles under her eyes grew darker everyday. She patted her cousin on the leg, "when it rains it pours doesn't it?"

"I was just thinking that."

"Our lives are insane. You finding a missing relative, your dad coming back, my mother and sister returning after being gone for ten years." She shook her head. "It's ridiculous."

"I haven't even talked to dad… I've been kind of avoiding him."

"Same here with mom and Alexandra."

He laid on the bed and stretched his body. Staring up at the ceiling he said, "why don't we just take a nice long vacation?"

"Doesn't sound like a bad idea. Listen I'm going to stay with Amir for a few days. I need sleep, badly."

"Ha, like you'll be doing anymore sleeping over there." He lifted himself up on his elbows and grinned wickedly at her.

She picked a throw pillow off the bed and threw it at him. "Get your head out of the gutter. Seriously though, will you be okay?"

"I survived living with dad for two years out of country. I think I'll be able to mange."

Philip's Apartment

Laurie panted out of breath as Philip and her landed on the couch. Philip rolled over half laying off the couch. "Phew… Now I know what I was missing all those years…" She smiled down at him.

He got up and grabbed his jeans off the floor. He began to put them on but she reached out to him and gently grabbed his wrist. "W-Where are you going?"

"I have a meeting at work to go to." He glanced at his watch. "I'm already fifteen minutes late."

"Uh oh…"

He kissed her on the lips. "It was worth it." He winked at her and after finding his shirt put it on. "You want to go out tonight?"

"Not really… Why don't we stay in and watch a movie?"

"Sounds good. What do you want me to pick up?"

"Hmm… Catherine Zeta-Jones' new movie just came out. Why don't you get that one?"

"Okay. I'll see you tonight then…"

She heard the door close and thought Austin who?

Austin's Dorm

Austin opened the door and was not surprised in the least to see who he opened it to. He knew it was coming yet he still hadn't thought of how to deal with it. "Come in." He said softly.

Charles Robinson entered the small dorm room and scuffed at the messy living room. "Disgusting…" He muttered.

"Some of us can't afford to have a maid come in regularly."

"Right." He brought out the envelope in his pocket. "Let's get this over with shall we?"

Austin shifted nervously. If he didn't take whatever was in that envelope he could end up dead. Charles was well-known for his ruthlessness.

"I'm assuming you want money? What else would I poor boy from North Carolina want? Hm?"

"I-I don't want your money…"

"Oh?" He chuckled. "Then tell me what is that you want?"

He turned his head away. "You wouldn't believe me anyway. So it doesn't matter."

"Come on, try me."

"… A family."

Charles nearly fell out laughing. He pointed at Austin, "now that's a good one. I must say I've never heard that one before." He stretched his arm out, the envelope directly pointed at Austin. "Why don't you just take this and get out of town?"

The Slater Home

"Come in." Victoria opened the door widely to let her neighbor in.

"I know this must be a bit strange for you… It is for me. Victoria, you know I've always wanted peace. I don't see the need in this constant fighting." Charlotte folded her hands and a smiled.

"I know Charlotte, I know." Victoria shut the door and turned back to the elderly woman.

"I know about what happened to Trevor and as you know I worked as a nurse for many years and Noah will be home in a couple of weeks. What I'm getting at is, if he has any problems don't hesitate to ask Noah and I for help. I know how slow those ambulances can be."

"Thank you Charlotte." Her eyes began to water up. "You don't know how much that means to me." She wrapped her arms around Charlotte as the tears started coming out. "I'm just so scared…"

She patted her back, "I know you are dear, I know you are."

The District Attorney's Office

Philip rushed through the door. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry." He started off immediately.

Elizabeth noticed his rather casual attire and looked at him strangely for a moment. "Philip…"

He sat down at the meeting table. "I'm really sorry I just… I guess I lost track of time."

Jonathan grinned at Elizabeth, "I am sure we can let it slide this one time Miss Harper."

"Oh no, I'm not upset at all Jonathan. Philip and I have worked together for over three years. I'm just a little stunned. I've never known him to be late before."

"Do you see that look in his eyes?"

"I'm not catching on…"

"I believe our young Mister Wadsworth has been bitten by the love bug." He flashed a smile at Philip. "Do tell us, who is the beautiful young woman that has captured our law clerk's heart?"

Philip blushed and smiled. "I-I don't know what you're talking about…"

"Miss Harper we must, in the name of love, excuse Philip for being late this one time."

Austin's Dorm

He stretched his arm out, the envelope directly pointed at Austin. "Why don't you just take this and get out of town?"

"I see you're up to your old tricks again Uncle." Ethan stormed into the dorm room and snatched the envelope out of Charles' hand. He tore it open and his eyes widened. "Six-hundred thousand dollars? You're really going all out this time." He ripped the check in half. "Too bad Austin won't be needing your money. I went to the bank today and you'll be pleased to know, I'm sure, that I have added Austin to mine and father's banking account."

"What?" Charles was so mad that the veins in his neck were throbbing. "Why would you do something that stupid?"

Ethan stepped over to Austin, "because he's family. My brother. Whether you like it or not and you'll also be pleased to know that Austin is moving in with us. I already cleared it with Grandmother. Of course she saw my views when I told her we couldn't leave one of our own at some crummy dorm."

"You're a damned fool Ethan. I use to think you were smart but this, oh this is… I can't even put it into words." Charles was now at the door.

"Good day Uncle." He said as he slammed the door in his face. "So, Austin, how does it feel? You're a true Robinson now."

Austin shook his head in disbelief, "It's… This is all a little too overwhelming… Excuse me." He rushed out of the room leaving Ethan by himself.

"Anyone else would be thrilled…"

The door opened again revealing a beautiful young woman.

"Austin's not here."

"Maybe I'm not looking for Austin…"

Rhonda's Cafe

"Hi Maria." Monica smiled sweetly and sat down at the outside table Maria was sitting at.

"Hi Monica."

"I didn't know I wasn't the only one that came here after school to think…"

Maria smiled half-heartedly.

"Something wrong?"

"I… I don't want to talk about it."

Monica noticed that she had kept one side of her face hidden. She pretended to drop her purse and while picking it up gasped at what Maria was hiding. "Oh my God… What happened?"

Maria, not knowing what to do, put the hood on her sweatshirt back on. "Nothing… It's nothing."

"Did somebody hit you?"

She bolted up causing his coffee to spill to the ground. She twitched and brought her hands up towards her face. "Just leave me alone, okay? You don't even know me. God I can't even come here and enjoy a cup of coffee in peace."

"I'm sorry…"

She slumped back down, "it isn't your fault. Look, I'll talk to you later."

"Oh… Okay. See you later." She watched Maria walk off, "strange…" She dug in her purse, got her cell phone out and said, "Ethan." The phone automatically dialed his number…

Austin's Dorm

They kissed roughly and fumbled with each other's clothes, heading to the couch. His cell phone was ringing but answering his phone was the last thing on this mind, not with some beautiful woman kissing his bare chest. "Wait… what's your name?"

"Mia."

"I'm…"

"Ethan, Austin's new brother."

She kissed down his chest and stomach until she reached his belt where she forcefully ripped it off.
A brief moan of pleasure slipped out as she pulled his pants down.

Rhonda's Cafe

She gave up and put her phone back in her purse. "Even stranger…"

Laurie's Dorm

Laurie placed a cup of coffee in front of him and sat in the chair facing him. "What's wrong?"

"I just… I'm just really overwhelmed… Charles tried to pay me to leave town today."

"You didn't take the money did you?"

"No, of course not, you know me better than that. And then Ethan came in."

"Always in the knick of time…"

"He announces that he's signed me on to this and Jacob's bank account."

Her eyes grew large, "Austin, that's great. Austin, they're loaded."

"I know. I know."

"So what are you worrying about? You're a millionaire now, why in God's name do you have to worry about?"

"Everything… Charles hates me and you've heard all the rumors about him. I'll probably end up dead in a ditch."

"He wouldn't do that, besides Ethan's there to protect you from them. He's not going to let them hurt you. This is the best thing that's ever happened to you Austin, don't let it slip away."

Heaven Beach Police Department

Kate Weiss was almost out of her office when her phone rang. "Damnit." I'm already late enough for the meeting with Elizabeth. She picked up the phone and said in a somewhat rude manner, "Kate Weiss." The files in her hand dropped to the ground. "What…?" She covered her mouth with her hand. "No… No…" Her eyes formed tears. "It can't be true…"
