The History of the Sex Pistols

Malcom McLaren had his own clothing store in London England in the 70's. He decided to create a rock band, one which would rock the foundation of the music industry itself. Glen Matlock, was already working for Malcom at his store. He then brought in Jones and Cook. Rotten, who was notorious for his ruddness around the store made him ideal to become the lead singer. Rotten, who had never sung publically before, had doubt at first, but his charisma and talent for rage and anger soon shattered all doubts. The Sex Pistols sound, which was raw and distorted was revolutionalry at the time. Their new sound ( which to many was the beginning of punk music) inspired many other local bands.
In a year, the Sex Pistols made an apperance on a Britsh talk show. Cursing and yelling through most of it, their presence on the show unleashed a hurricane of publicity. Their record label did not accept this. Their first single, " Anarchy in the U.K. was withdrawn from the shelves, and they were kicked off the label.
It did not take long to get a new record deal, and their new single, " God Save the Queen" was quickly banned by the BBC (Britsh Broadcasting Channel). By this time, Matlock was out of the band, and in came Sid Vicious, a childhood friend of Rotten in 1977. After their first album was releashed, the Sex Pistols went on a short tour of the US, where Rotten then left the band.
The band completed one last album together without Rotten. " The Great Rock N' Roll Swindle." After that the band soon fell apart. With Sid Vicious, facing murder chargers on his girlfriend, he overdosed and died, and the others formed new bands. After years of legal red tape, the original band finally came back in 1996 to form a reunion tour and a new album, " Filthy Lucre." Finally, the Sex Pistols came back to do what they did best, anger the hell out of people.
