OTHER SKILLS AND INTERESTS this part is obviously still being rewritten
When not writing, I enjoy knitting, crochet, and embroidery. Designing my own patterns is a special joy for me and an hour spent in a yarn shop is a treat in itself, suggesting new projects and new skills to learn.
Music has been a pastime for me throughout my life. I played the trumpet and performed in a band while in high school. As I found the trumpet unsuited for apartment living, I am now teaching myself to play the mandolin, and finding there is little better than spending a night among friends picking out new tunes.
