MUJAHIDEEN IN KASHMIR ESTABLISH NEWS SERVICE

(LAHORE, Pakistan - April 20, 2000) The mujahideen of Lashkar-e-Taiba
announced today the establishment of an email news service to inform the
international community about its military and social operations.
The news service, called Taiba Bulletin, will distribute the latest
official information about the work of Lashkar-e-Taiba, as well as news
releases and public statements by its leaders. The Taiba Bulletin is
available to subscribers in both English and in Urdu. Subscription
requests should be sent to markazdawa@hotmail.com
Lashkar-Taiba, whose name means "the army of the good," is the military
wing of Markaz Ad-Dawah Wal Irshad. The group is engaged in a military
campaign that targets the occupying Indian forces to force their
withdrawal from Kashmir.
Markaz Ad-Dawah Wal Irshad is devoted to da'wah and jihad based on the
principals of Qur'an and Sunnah. In the field of da'wah, its endeavors
include the establishment of a network of schools, madrasas, Qur'an
lessons, seminars, conferences, and the publication of journals in Arabic,
English, and Urdu. It is focusing its efforts on forging the correct
understanding of the injunctions of the Qur'an and Sunnah among the Muslim
youth.
Thousands of Lashkar-e-Taiba mujahideen are fighting the Indian occupation
forces in Kashmir. To date, over 750 of our fighters have embraced shahada
(martyrdom) in the path of Allah.
India has been harshly attacked by international human rights
organizations for its brutal practices in the region, including rape,
torture, and summary executions of Kashmir's civilians.
