Congratulations to Gondramind (first place - Nos Menelmen standard) and Niinaeth and Beinithil (Nos Aderthad standard).  Thanks to all participants and voters!

Posing in Verse:  Elves love poetry and song, and the Bardic Congress gives ample opportunity to polish up your best verse and present it to your fellow elves. However, there is a great challenge to improvisational verse in rp. It's a race to come up with a pose that meets some criteria of verse, while also carrying forward the scene. Can you do it? Put your skills to the test! While this is not a contest per se, IC'ly there may be a special treat for the wittiest and quickest among you. (To relate this to an RL model, think freestyle rapping battles a la 8 Mile). We'll have a scene set that makes sense, and gives folks something to work with, and just see where the verbal pyrotechnics go. Plan to pose at least every other pose in verse with some kind of rhyme scheme!

Date:  Wednesday, November 12
Time:  18:00 GT
Location:
Contact:  Averiel

Musical Instruments:  A meeting will be held on Monday, November 3 for everyone to pair up with a partner from another culture. Together, teams are to craft a musical instrument made from the finest - or most creative - materials. Differing approaches to design and craft should create some interesting results and RP! Entries will be displayed throughout the day, and judged for awards. Participants will be expected to play their entry.

NOTE:  The planning meeting will be officially held at 20:30 GT on Monday, November 3.  Because of the later time for this RP, a "sign-up object" (Idhrenilf) will be sitting out in the Guild of Artisans throughout the day (and probably through the week).  ALL are encouraged to RP signing up for pairs and crafting their entries in the meantime!

Date:  Thursday, November 13
Time:  12:00 GT
Location:  Hall of Song
Contact:  Gondramind

Congratulations to Gilrowen and Gondramind for their prize-winning instrument and performance!

Song Competition:  The theme of this contest will be the Vala Yavanna, whose province is all growing things.  Come ready to perform, or just to watch.

Time:  18:00 GT
Location:  Guard House
Contact:  Thileithel, Randinen

Closing Ceremonies:  Ever wondered what it would be like to go back and see the Hidden Kingdom of Gondolin, at the height of its glory? To look upon the city that had been intended as a reflection of Tirion and was the fairest and most renowned of all the Elven kingdoms? If so, join us at the Historical Ball, which will be held in honour of that once-great realm. Come ready to dance, be merry and soak up the atmosphere of the past.

Date:  Saturday, November 15
