HOMEOPATHY FOR JAUNDICE, CIRRHOSIS OF LIVER AND OTHER LIVER PROBLEMSThe
liver diseases which we discuss here are hepatitis (what
we commonly know as jaundice) & the other which is most common of
all the 'grave' liver diseases & also unfortunately most resistant
to treatment. It is called cirrhosis of the liver.
Hepatitis is a viral infection of the liver. It is ususally self-limiting & without any complications except in cases of hepatitis-B where there might be serious implications or permanent liver damage leading to cirrhosis. In cases of hepatitis, homeopathy seeks to aid in quick recovery & prevent serious liver damage. In cirrhosis of the liver there is a gradual destruction of the liver which can over a period of years cause irrepairable liver failure & many other complications. The most common causes of this disease are a history of Hepatitis-B infection & alcohol intake over the years. Some other causes are heart failure, any obstruction of the liver ducts,some drugs & certain congenital diseases of the liver. the disease is usually noticed only when the patient presents with complains like swelling of the body, distension of the abdomen due to fluid collection, vomiting of blood or sometimes even coma.In the acute stage which could be life threatening at times, hospitalisation is a must. Homeopathic medicine is to be taken without discontinuing some of the most essential allopathic medicines (like vitamin B-complex & others)& strict diet restriction as advised. Homeopathy tries to restore the reduced liver function as well as prevent further destruction of the organ.
