New Versa variant for just Rs 3.27 lakh, Attractive upgrade option for Omni owners

New Delhi, March 15, 2004: Car market leader Maruti Udyog Limited today announced the launch of a new variant of its multipurpose vehicle, Maruti Suzuki Versa.

Maruti brands have a dominant position in the C segment (Van type vehicles), with the Omni having sold more than 8 lakh units so far, and the Versa becoming increasingly well accepted too.

The new variant, the Versa 5-Seater, will help MUL retain its large base of
Omni customers by providing an excellent upgrade option for them.

The Versa 5-Seater scores on price, space and performance parameters, and would therefore also be considered by people who are looking for these aspects in their cars.

The new variant will provide comfortable seating space for five people, leaving large amount of room for luggage. This will be appreciated by families, specially when they are travelling together on a holiday.

The Versa 5-Seater comes with a Heater, with the provision to fit an Air
Conditioner.

All these superior features are available at a price of just Rs 3,27,817 (ex showroom, Delhi).

A Great Option for the Tourism Industry

With the growth of tourism in the country, fleet operators and the tourism industry are looking for vehicles that provide more space and better ride comfort. The Versa provides both these features.

The new variant makes the Versa available at a price which is much less than existing Utility vehicles in the market.

Versa's compact design and tighter turning radius make it easier to drive,
compared to competitors. It also comes with the inherent advantages of a petrol engine: better ride and low maintenance cost.

Versa Variants
The Versa brand already comes in three variants, including Versa DX , Versa DX2 and the top end Versa SDX . The price of the existing variants ranges from Rs 4.01 lakh to Rs 4.92 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)
