of His Majesty's 17th Regiment of Foot"

You are in the right place! Links below will take you to all the original data plus updates and additions.

Over the past four years, I have been contacted by many distant cousins and other welcome guests. If this is your first visit or if you have any comments about the new look, please remember to SIGN the guest book & VIEW before you leave.

I begin with my Great- Great- Great Grandfather, Paul McPherson, who arrived in British North America in 1775 to serve as a redcoat soldier in the American Revolution. He eventually chose to settle in the wilderness which became Guysborough, Nova Scotia. (see left) For a detailed history of his life and his family please click *HERE*

Paul's son James and wife Ann Catherine Whitman and their children moved from Nova Scotia to Upper Canada (later known as Ontario) and homesteaded Canada Company lands in McGillivray and Stephen Townships.  For the details of this prolific branch please click *HERE*

My  Great - Grandfather  was  Edmund  McPherson.  He and my Great - Grandmother, Kerenhappuch  Mollard, raised nine children on their farm at Greenway,  McGillivray Township, Ontario. Their story begins *HERE*

Ann Catherine Whitman was the daughter of New England United Empire Loyalists. Several branches of her ancestral tree extend to the 1500's and earlier. None of her ancestors was on the Mayflower in 1620 (as far as I know) but many arrived in the first 40 or 50 years of the colonies.(Check out the "Crazy" Tuttles) To learn  more  about my Connecticut Yankee roots please click *HERE*

If any long lost kin recognize a connection I would love to hear from you.
