| In April 1999 some friend from Rotterdam, Holland, wanted to start a band.Those friend where Bjarne, Joran, Wouter, Bastiaan and Rens. They all loved hardcore-punk, so they wanted to start a hardcore-punkband (how logical...). Bjarne and Rens had already wrote some songs together, even before the band was formed. Those songs, wich they still play, where "Thirst For Life" and "The Pain Comes Later". When finally the line-up was completed, Joran: Bass, Bjarne Vocals, Bastiaan: Guitar, Wouter: Drums and Rens: Guitar, the band started to rehearse. The band was called Imprint. They started directly playing their own songs, no covers. Till July 1999 everything went fine and the band wrote three new songs: "Brainwashed", "Running Haywire" and "Mantra" ( they don't play this song anymore). But in the and of July, the band saw that Bastiaan was no longer good enough at the guitar for the more and more difficult riffs, so they decided to expel him from the band. That was a very though decision, because Bastiaan was a good friend of the bandmembers. So there were absolutely no personal feelings involved. Bastiaan is now a very skillfull bassplayer and is in the Rotterdam thrashcoreband Renfield. After the departure of Batiaan there were some big changes in Imprint. Joran started to play the guitar instead of Bastiaan and a new Bassplayer was attracted. The new bassist was Oscar. After all the changes the band finally started again with the rehearsals. The band wrote 2 new songs:"A Few Years Ago" and "Fast Forward". But in December 1999 there where some more troubles. Wouter had some personal issues and that was the cause of a 5 month break of the band. Finally in April 2000 the band was able to pick up the line and they started to rehearse again. They wrote a new song: "Lotus On Fire". The band haven't done anything since the Summer Holidays. Almost all the members are having final exams this year or other important and busy things in school. The band hopes that the rehearsals will start in a few months, but with Imprint you never know..... |
