It is not old-fashioned to believe in the ideals of our ancestors, like the "Kingly Way", the principles of benevolent leadership and the "Mandate of Heaven", really this is simply common sense. The people will prosper and the country will be great and happy if their are ruled in the proper way by men of talent, virtue and great respect for Heaven and the enlightened edicts of moral behavior given to us from Khong Tu, the "Teacher of 10,000 Generations". Adherence to these great moral truths have governed Viet Nam with success for countless centuries and only when they were carried out loyally and devoutly did the country achieve the greatest success of the history.
Other sincere people on this website, who have written here, are faithfully praying for a Nguyen restoration; but I am not and this is an incorrect understanding of what to do. The Mandate of Heaven is never lost by "accident" just as it can never be gained by anyone "accidentally". Many of the late Nguyen emperors, particularly Khai Dinh and Bao Dai did not care enough about their sacred position to fight for independence but instead lived in idle luxury while the country suffered. Because of this, they lost the respect of their people and when the Bao Dai Emperor was abdiacted in August of 1945, handing over to the Ho Chi Minh government the sacred seal and sword he surrendered willingly the Mandate of Heaven from the Nguyen Dynasty to the so-called Democratic Republic of Viet Nam. This would have been the time, Heaven had allowed the Nguyen to be overthrown and power given to the united nationalists groups of the Viet Nam Doc Lap Dong Minh Hoi, this would have been the time for the leadership to declare a new dynasty and put into effect the principles of virtuous and benevolent government.
Some simple people thought this had happened and some village mandarins sent Ho Chi Minh beautiful letters of congratulations on the success of the new dynasty. However, we know that Ho Chi Minh did not do this. He was handed over, by the Emperor himself, the Mandate of Heaven to begin a new era of greatness for Viet Nam and instead he totally ignored it. They have refused to rule in accordance with the Kingly Way and even attacked and ridiculed the moral foundations of their own culture. Because of this, honorable and devoted people have only one choice in keeping with the heroic history of our country: bring to the throne a new dynasty which will put Viet Nam back into full conformity with the movement of Heaven and return the correct dignity and power to the imperial golden dragon throne. |
