ImpactDC Potluck Shabbat Dinner
Friday, March 11th, 7:30pm, 3415 Rustic Way Lane Falls Church, VA 22044

ImpactDC is having another of it's ever-popular quarterly potluck Shabbat dinners, which usually has 35-50 people. This time it's at the home of Sarah & Uri Arkin, who were gracious enough to open it up to us all. All you need to do (and this is very important) is RSVP Sarah first and mention what you plan to bring (if possible, please try to see what she needs, so we get a good mix of entrees, side dishes, and desserts). Keep in mind this is a Kosher home and needs to be a Dairy (not meat) dish. If unsure about an item, check with Sarah first! To RSVP and for any questions, please contact Sarah, or at 703-914-9146. Nearest metro (which is NOT walkable) is East Falls Church on the Orange Line. If necessary, we will do a shuttle run there one time at 7:15 sharp. You must co-ordinate this with Sarah if interested.

Project H.O.P.E.

Join Impact for one of our signature annual community service events! B'nai B'rith (whom we are a unit of) intends to deliver Passover goods to 525 households in need in the Montgomery County, MD area this year -- a new high, and a big increase from the 400 or so we were doing a few years ago. The total cost of the project comes out to a little more than $18,000 (which is $35 per basket)

We are looking for people to come pick up the Passover packages to be delivered and make the rounds to a few souls in need. If you can't, but want to help in some other way, you can alway help offset the costs of the program by making a monetary contribution directly to Impact (i.e. made out to IMPACTDC. Please do NOT make it out to B'nai B'rith) which we will then present in a single large check to the local B'nai B'rith regional headquarters. 100% of your donation will go to this cause! Details on where to send your contribution coming soon.

Impact has helped with this worthwhile program every year since 1994. For those of you who have made deliveries, you know how much it means to needy and elderly Jews who otherwise wouldn't be able to celebrate Pesach. At a minimum, you get an appreciative thank-you. Sometimes, they insist you come in and chat for a while. (It helps if you know a little Russian.)

It's a great way to help the local Jewish Community, and afterwards we will plan to meet for lunch in Rockville at a location to be announced later.
