BJ Manalo's early explosion was enough to carry La Salle past Philippine School of Business Administration, 73-67, giving the Archers their first backt-to-back wins in the 10th National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) men's basketball tournament at the Blue Eagle Gym. The prized La Salle guard fired two three-pointers in the first period as he combined with Mika Vainio in sparking a telling 22-6 salvo that enabled the Archers to pull away. Manalo topscored for 12 points, Joseph Yeo and Vainio added 11 apiece as the Archers finally jumped out of the cellar in Group A with their second win in five matches. La Salle made it a twinkill when its wonmen's team, the reigning UAAP champions toppled Lyceum, 54-50, to snare the solo lead with its fourth straight triumph. |
