This project is about righting problems caused by an earlier basement remodeling project. During a remodel attempted 15 or more years ago by previous owners, a sub-standard grade of paneling was used to cover the interior walls while the perimeter walls were left as concrete block and painted. In addition, the ceiling and carpet installed were both sub-standard. The one good thing about the former remodel effort was that egress windows were installed and they remain adequate for the space today.

The sponsor for this project, Anita Smits - the wife of Scott Lichty, wishes to have Scott Lichty update the two basement bedrooms to a better quality. She wishes to have Scott remove the cheap paneling, ceiling, and carpeting. In its place, she would like to have Scott install sheet rock walls, a drop in ceiling, and nicer carpeting.

The specific requests are:
1. On the outside cement block walls, install a vapor barrier, insulation, and sheet rock.
2. On the inside walls, she wishes to replace the paneling with sheet rock. This includes installing sheet rock in 2 closet areas in the rooms.
3. Add electrical outlets to each wall in order to meet code requirements.
4. Install a drop-in style ceiling that will maximize the ceiling to floor clearances in the room.
5. Install two light fixtures that can be incorporated into the ceiling design for each room.
