DIET TIP #1
Eating problems, like Alchoholism, are ADDICTIONS...But unlike Alchoholism, to overcome Your food addiction you have to "USE" your "Addictive Substance" daily.
You can not & Should not abstain from food
the way an Alchoholic must abstain from Drink..
You must face the challenge of chooseing not only What to eat, but when and in what amount!
Befor you eat ANYTHING- ask yourself these questions...
#1-- Is it worth the calories?
#2-- Can I stop after just a few bites?
#3--Am I really hungry..or just bored (depressed, THIRSTY..ect..)
If the answer is YES-- ENJOY!!

Our first Challenge;
Cut the fat!!
limit fried foods to 1-2 times a week
Use low-fat or fat free dressings at all times!
limit your use of oil to 3 tbs. aWEEK!
Bake, broil, or Boil your
Meat / poultry after you remove all visible fat & skin!

You'll see a BIG difference in
how you FEEL andHOW Quickly YOU LOSE!

Water, Water, Water !
Water is probably THE most important element in any Weight-loss program!
In fact- it is probably the ONLY true "magic potion" available for PERMANENT Weight-loss!
There are several reasons water  works so well-
#1- Your kidneys are what metabolizes the fat in your body- if they don't have enough water to easily perform their functions, then the fat is STORED instead of burned!
#2-When you don't drink enough water, you body RETAINS as much as it can get ahold of, wich means bloating and more lbs. on you!
#3- Water improves the elasticity and tone of muscles, allowing them a wider range of motion and allowing you to work-out longer/more often!
#4-After approximately 36-hours of drinking the RIGHT AMOUNT of water FOR YOU, it begins acting as a natural appetite suppressant!  Many times that we feel "hungry" it is actually our brain mis-interpretation of THIRST!
How much water is enough?
All adults should drink at least 8-8oz glasses of plain water every day... but overweight individuals need more!  An additional 8oz for every 20lbs of excess weight!
Your best bet- Start-out with a 12oz glass/bottle of water 5 times a day ..
After that-- increase if needed to reach your personal water "goal"   And your on your way!
Other ways to
"CUT THE FAT"
Allways use non-stick cooking spray instead of oil, and use broth, wine or beer for added moisture..
(cook at least 20 minutes to eliminate the alchohol-but keep the flavor!)

Use smaller amounts of meat..
Cut it up in soups, stews and stir fry instead of serving
"solid" portions of meat.

When making soups, stew or gravy, CHILL the broth until the fat solidifies on top-
then just scrape it off!
           
Use Fruit Juices, Marmalde or Honey             
(in small amounts)
to Glaze Fish, pork or poultry!

Use only flour or cornstarch as a thickener-Leave out the butter or oil-
add to Canned  Clear Broth  
   for a quick- low-fat gravy!
