Icedude's Astrophotography

The gif above was created with the last 6 images(details below) taken of the lunar eclipse. There is an incomplete shadowing on the lower half of the moon as the upper half is consumed by the umbra.

Images were taken by me Chuck Haynes in Troy, Ohio on August 28, 2007  at the time of total. There were no clouds high or low during the entire eclipse and into sunrise.

Telescope: Celestron 8" SCT, camera mounted at prime focus with focal reducer. Scope was polar aligned and tracking at lunar rate for longer exposures.

Exposure: 20sec exposures at ISO 100(X6) original images taken in RAW format and reduced for gif at 0616 to 0619 EST(there was a 6sec gap between each exposure..)
