Introduction

This is a Bible Study presenting scripture that describes who Jesus is (What Jesus was and is all about).

Jesus Christ had a Divine nature (Diety) as well as a human nature. Jesus Christ was half God and half human.

Jn. 1:14;

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (NKJV)

Matt. 1:1;

The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham: (NKJV)

Ga. 4:4;

But when the fulness of the time had come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, (NKJV)

Ph. 2:7,8;

but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a servant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. (NKJV)

1 Tim. 3:16;

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory. (NKJV)

Ro. 8:3;

For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, (NKJV)

Col. 2:9;

For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; (NKJV)

1 Jn. 4:2

By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, (NKJV)

Jesus Christ has many titles

Isa. 7:14;

"Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel." (NKJV)

Isa. 9:6,7;

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (NKJV)

Jn. 1:14;

And the Word became flesh ... (NKJV)

Jesus Christ, Preexistence

Gen. 1:26;

Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; .... (NKJV)

Mi. 5:2;

"But you, Bethleham Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be ruler in Israel, whose goings forth have been from old, from everlasting." (NKJV)

Jn. 3:31;

"He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all. (NKJV)

Jn.8:57,58;

Then the Jews said to Him, "You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?" Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM." (NKJV)

Jn. 17:4,5,24;

verses 4 & 5: "I have glorified You on earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. (NKJV)

verse 24: "Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. (NKJV)

Col. 1:15,18;

verse 15: He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. (NKJV)

verse 18: And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. (NKJV)

He. 3:3;

For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the house has more honor than the house. (NKJV)

He. 7:3;

without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually. (NKJV)

Rev. 1:11;

saying, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last," ... (NKJV)

Rev. 22:13

"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last." (NKJV)

Jesus is the Son of God

Matt. 2:15;

and was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, "Out of Egypt I called My Son." (NKJV)

Matt. 8:29;

And suddenly they cried out, saying, "What have we to do with You, Jesus, You Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?" (NKJV)

Matt. 14:33;

Then those who were in the boat came and worshipped Him, saying, "Truly You are the Son of God." (NKJV)

Matt. 17:5;

While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!" (NKJV)

Mark 1:1;

The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. (NKJV)

Luke 1:35;

And the angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. (NKJV)

Jn. 1:34;

"And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God." (NKJV)

Jn. 3:18;

"He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (NKJV)

Jn. 9:35;

Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him, "Do you believe in the Son of God?" (NKJV)

Acts 9:20;

Immediately he preached the Christ in the synagogues, that He is the Son of God. (NKJV)

He. 10:29;

Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? (NKJV)

1 Jn. 4:15

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. (NKJV)

Jesus Christ is the Beloved Son of God

Proverbs 30:4

Who has ascended into heaven, or descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son's name, If you know? (NKJV)

Psalms 2:12

Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.(NKJV)

Matt. 3:17;

...This is My beloved Son, ... (NKJV)

Matt. 12:18;

... My beloved in whom My soul is well pleased; ... (NKJV)

Matt. 17:5;

....This is My beloved Son ....(NKJV)

Mark 1:11;

Then a voice came from heaven, "You are My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." (NKJV)

Eph. 1:6;

to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved. (NKJV)

Col. 1:13;

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, (NKJV)

2 Peter 1:17;

For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." (NKJV)

Jesus Christ is King of Kings

1 Tim. 6:15;

which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, (NKJV)

Rev. 17:14;

"These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for His Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful." (NKJV)

Rev. 19:16

And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. (NKJV)

Jesus Christ, His Authority

Matt. 7:29;

for He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him. (NKJV)

Matt. 28:18;

Then Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. (NKJV)

Mark 1:27;

Then they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, "What is this? What new doctrine i s this? For with authority He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him." (NKJV)

Jn. 5:27

"and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man. (NKJV)

Jesus the Light of the World

Isa. 9:2;

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a light has shined. (NKJV)

Jn. 1:4;

In Him was life, and the life was the light to men. (NKJV)

Jn. 8:12;

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." (NKJV)

Jn. 12:35,46;

verse 35: Then Jesus said to them, "A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going. (NKJV)

verse 46: "I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. (NKJV)

2 Cor. 4:6;

For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (NKJV)

Ep. 5:14;

Therefore He says: "Awake you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light." (NKJV)

Rev. 21:23

And the city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, and the Lamb is its light. (NKJV)

Jesus Christ is Lord

Luke 6:5;

And He said to them, "The Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath." (NKJV)

Acts 2:36;

"Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ." (NKJV)

Ro. 10:9;

that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (NKJV)

1 Cor. 1:9;

God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. (NKJV)

1 Cor. 8:6;

yet for us there is only one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live. (NKJV)

1 Cor. 12:3;

Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. (NKJV)

Ph. 2:9-11;

Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (NKJV)

Rev. 19:16

Jesus is full of wisdom, and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge

Ps. 104:24;

O Lord, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all. The earth is full of Your possessions- (NKJV)

Pr. 3:19;

The Lord by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding He established the heavens; (NKJV)

Isa. 11:2;

The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. (NKJV)

Luke 2:40;

And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him. (NKJV)

1 Cor. 1:24;

but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. (NKJV)

1 Cor. 2:7;

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, (NKJV)

Col. 2:2b-3;

and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (NKJV)
