Soda and Wheaten Breads
Soda and Wheaten Breads are popular
in all parts of Ireland.
Traditional Soda is usually dome
shaped and cut with a cross on top. Soda farls are more popular
in Northern Ireland and are shaped like Potato farls (slices), but thicker.
Wheaten is usually loaf shaped
and should be moist. It is often eaten with jams or preserves and is great toasted.
Neither contains yeast.
