Well, the secret that I've tried to hide for all these years is out! Before I moved to LA and became a "Hipster Extraordinaire" (as I am called on the back of the Untold Fables first LP), I was a complete dork! Or, as they were called on the east coast, a Gizmo! Keep in mind that this was the mid-70's, but I offer no good explanations for my looks (other than that my siblings that I looked up to were hippies!). I'm not telling you which one is me - you gotta figure it out!

The Gizmos were a non-band that was put together by Kenne Highland and Bob Richert to record some of Kenne's high school r'n'r anthems. We all met in the "recording studio", which was a small bedroom run by a real hippie! We all played and sang live in this small room, so our already crappy equipment sounded even worse since we had to play really quietly! We played maybe 3 sporadic shows (with a different line-up each time!) and since we lived hours (and states!), apart, this non-band "broke-up". Ted Niemic formed a new band and played for a while (maybe even toured) and recorded a split LP with another Hoosier band, before the Gizmos name was retired for good.

Gulcher Records ( GulcherRecords@aol.com ), has now reissued the original recordings on one CD with a number of outtakes, and is also releasing a "demos" CD - god help us all!

Try to forgive my transgressions - I was just a teenager!

Flier for Gizmos first show - only $1!

The Gizmos play a "Punk Rock Festival"!
