I finally just decided to DO IT!! Sell it all and pursue my dream.

Hope...Faith...Dream BIG!

On September 19, 2005, I loaded my dog,  my cat and my car and headed west. Traveling with two animals is quite an experience!! It took 3 days and by the time I arrived, we were all just a little stressed… We moved into a house we had never seen. And fell in love!!

I plan to sink all I have into a 7 acres spread just outside of Rapid City, SD. I know there is much work to be done before this will become what I envisioned….but in time, it will happen.

That's what hope and faith can do!!

The complete dream is two part...the first is to have a self sufficient farm…. the second part is to have a rescue haven for unwanted “older ladies”.

I had already started the adopting part. Before I left, I adopted Sasha, a 1 yr old cat that no one wanted. She had been at the CT Humane Society for 3-4 months. I found out the reason everyone had kept bringing her back. It was very simple….she had a urinary tract infection and all that was needed was to change her diet. She is a typical cat with an attitude, but very loving...of course, on HER terms!

Then a few weeks after I arrived here in SD, I went to the local Humane Society and adopted a 12 year old deaf, blind poodle named Cricket. She is a sweetheart and has the spirit of a 2 yr old!

But, just like the rest of us old folks, she has her days when she just doesn't feel like getting out of bed….

Then there's Midge, my 10 year old Pomeranian. I got her when she was just weeks old. She has been with me through thick and thin. She is my faithful girl and a real comfort. Thanks, Midgey….

I've decided to specialize in the “older ladies”….female Pomeranians that are on in years.

So there you have it—the start of a wonderful dream.

Wish me luck!
