DC Talk are a slightly mad, fast band. One of those where you can't really fit all the lyrics in. They started off rapping, but now are more varied.

I don't actually have this album, but it is one of their very early ones. It is really awful. It is basically a really bad eighties rap album. The lyrics are appalling and I really couldn't believe it was the same group that I love now. Just listen to it if you want to hear how much they've improved. It might renew hope you have in a really awful band you know.

By this point the group had improved and got closer to the standard people now associate with them, it is still not as good as their later stuff, but there are some good songs. They'd moved away from the pure rap stuff thank goodness and were beginning to sound OK.

Jesus Freak Soundbite

This is DC Talk's best album, almost all of the songs on it are excellent except for the weird version of Jesus Freak, nobody I know likes that, it's just an awful distorted version of the song. Jesus Freak is a really powerful song which has really spoken to a lot of people, the lyrics are well written and very fast. The other songs on it are great too, what if I stumble is one of my favourite tracks which deals with what happens if we make a mess of stuff.

I haven't listened to this CD that much, but it is a very good album, I expect if I listened to it more I would begin to like it as much as Jesus Freak.
