GALBADIAN ARMY

ARMORED AND ARTILLERY

Simond A2 Obelisk Battle Tank (C)

Galbadia’s primary ground weapon, the Simond is faster than most Estharian tanks, but far less accurate on the move. The main gun on this tracked vehicle fires 105mm rounds of Demolition ammo, but has a high margin of error while in motion. Its top speed is well over 50 mph, but unless it is completely stationary, the gun has trouble identifying and reaching its targets. For close in fighting, the tank can utilize two types of Anti-Tank missile, the Fang and the Venom.

Missiles, 15 Fang Anti-Tank Missiles

Obelisk Battle Platforms (C)

Much like the Estharian Cromwell, the Obelisk is a dual-role vehicle, capable of transporting several troops in relative safety due to its offensive abilities and thick armor. Its tough tracks can negotiate almost any terrain, and its proficiency at getting troops to their destinations on time is vital in battle. The Obelisk has sufficient firepower, but functions better as an armored transport, carrying in excess of twenty soldiers at a time. Its primary weapon is a 40mm cannon, which can fire Demolition ammo.

Omega Long-Range Mobile Cannon (C)

The Omega needs a 4-person crew, and weighs 42,000 lbs. It has a relatively small mobile range of 186 miles, but can travel at a top speed of 35mph, making it hard to hit with counterbattery fire. The cannon, while on the move, can receive orders, calculate the location of its target, find the most advantageous positioning, aim, and fire in under 45 seconds. Once it launches its attack, it can be on the move again and at top speed in another 18 seconds. These rounds can be fired three at a time, and have a range of over 35 miles. The Omega has integrated navigation and fire control systems. The vehicle is heavily armored on its roof, and can withstand a near-direct hit from returned fire. The steel shell plating is five inches thick. The vehicle has survived tests against nuclear strikes, though in the simulation, the crew was killed.

INFANTRY

Grlan A3 Everett Automatic Handgun (C)

This is a spring-recoil semiautomatic pistol. It has a 15 round clip, steel frame, with a 5.25” barrel. It’s chambered for the .43 Auto round. This pistol is used by Galbadian Army Regulars, replacing the venerable SP-3 autopistol. If Hope Dies

S-7 Starag (SC)

This is a semiautomatic rifle, 28" barrel, with an 8 round en-bloc loader (think the American M1 Garand). The military chamber is .330 Galbadian, although civilian versions are usually in .303. The stock is polyester resin. This gun is considered obsolete, although Galbadian snipers still favor it. It can produce a 2" group at 100 yards, although some Galbadian snipers claim it can place three rounds through the same hole at 300 yards.

S-10 (SC)

This is the current Galbadian battle rifle. It's a spring-recoil automatic rifle, with an 18" barrel and a 40-round clip. It can fire either full-auto or 2-round burst. It's chambered for the .26 round, generally either Standard or Fire ammunition. Polyester stock, with a carrying handle and a pistol-grip. Accuracy is mediocre, only able to group 5 to 8 inches at 100 yards.

XR-44 (SC)

This is the gun being considered to replace the S-10. It's an automatic rifle, working off of a direct gas-impingement system. The barrel is 18", and it has a 30-round clip. It's also chambered for the .26 round, but is capable of handling Standard, Fire, Darkness, and HE Demolition ammo. Again, polyester-resin stock, with a pistol-grip and a carrying handle. Accuracy is generally considered to be good, with a 3" group at 100 yards in the hands of a soldier ranked Expert. Very few soldiers are armed with this, for testing purposes.

S-771 Squad Automatic Weapon (SC)

This is the heavy-support battle rifle. It's gas-port automatic, with a 22" finned barrel for cooling purposes and chain-fed. Again, chambered for the .26, and capable of 6 rounds per second due to it's weight. The usual load is Standard ammo with tracers, although a few enterprising soldiers have loaded it with Fire ammo. Polyester-resin butt stock and grip, but otherwise bare metal. Accuracy is a null point, as this weapon is designed to spray, not for precision.

SG-81 (SC)

This is a grenade launcher. It's single shot, with a 16" barrel and a wood stock. It's chambered for the 40mm HE grenade round, which can be modified and/or loaded with 10 custom variations including teargas and napalm rounds. The stock is removable, and the gun features lugs to attach it to the S-10 as an under-barrel launcher. Accuracy is a null point.

R-4 Light Antitank RPG Launcher (SC)

This is a medium-sized surface-to-surface rocket launcher. Single shot, with a 24" launch tube. It takes a 56mm RPG round. It features a heat-tracking system, and it has also been modified for a wire-guide system. Requires a two-man crew, one launcher and one loader.

SS-23 (SC)

This is the current Galbadian sniper rifle. It's a bolt-action single-shot, with a 3-round clip and a 28" barrel. Chambered for the .230 Hawsey round, a superbly accurate round. It has a wood stock, a definite oddity. The reason for this is the advice of several gun manufacturers and snipers who claim a wood stock with a free-floating barrel is superior to polyester-resin. It can produce 2" groups at 200 yards. It comes standard with a 4-20x variable scope with a low-light attachment. Broken Fate

SOLDIERS AND TROOPS

"Polaris" Company (SC)

Company A, Second Regiment, First Division, Galbadian Army. This company is noted for it's unorthodox and extreme training methods. Although part of the regular body of troops, it's members are widely considered to be the equal of any other special-forces division. These soldiers are specifically trained to oppose SeeD. Many soldiers assigned to this company show strong para-magical affinity, and most are trained in the use of Limit Breaks. This company was established after the First Sorceress War, and disbanded after the end of the Second Sorceress War. Broken Fate
