British Columbia is Canada's Pacific coast province, known worldwide for its rich natural resources, environmental heritage and quality of life. It's huge land mass. larger than France and Germany combined, has the greatest geographical diversity of any part of Canada, ranging from a deeply indented and island-studded mainland coastline to the heights of the Rocky Mountains.
British Columbia is home to three and a half million people, a population growing with a steady influx of newcomers from other parts of Canada and around the world, attracted for its multicultural diversity. It is also the most expensive Province to live in. Houseprices are about triple on the westcoast compared to the eastcoast.

Victoria is the capitol city of British Columbia and is located on Vancouver Island. which is rated as one of the best outdoor vacation spots around. it provides an enchanting combination of the rugged outdoors and small town living, with Victoria, a charming 19th-century city at one end, and comfortable seaport villages at the other. Off its coast lie the Gulf Islands, famous for secluded coves, lovely beaches and idyllic lifestyle.

To get to Vancouver Island from Vancouver, you will take the bcferries. and travel through the many Gulf Islands in the Georgia Strait. You can also get there from the U.S.A. by ferries via Anacortes or Seattle. Travel direct to Victoria's beautiful Inner Harbour from downtown Seattle's Pier 69 in as little as 2 hours. The beautiful San Juan and Gulf Islands, are a short distance away. It is known for its wonderful history and a magnificent view.

My hometown is White Rock/South Surrey which is renowned for its sandy beaches, restaurants, art galleries and spectacular sunsets and the charm only a seaside city can provide. Population 17,000. White Rock is a great unique community within the greater Vancouver mosaic 35 miles south of Vancouver,Canada and just 5 miles from the U.S. Border, it is a suburban retreat, charming and picturesque. Originally part of Surrey until April 15, 1957 when it was incorporated as the City of White Rock.

thumbnail picture Pier The PIER was built in 1914.The first section was 628 feet. The breakwater was built in 1953. Today the pier is 1540 ft.

Living close to the White Rock pier, we are fortunate to be able to take a leisurely walk along the promenade, walk to the end of the pier where the boats are moored, enjoy nature and the magnificence of Semiahmoo Bay and the Gulf Islands. Quaint shops greet you along Marine Drive as well as a variety of different types of restaurants and pubs

A short drive to the east of the pier on Marine Drive you will find yourself only minutes away from the Douglas Border Crossing to the United States, as well as the #99 Freeway which will take you to Vancouver.
