Why
homeschooling: If you went to school and
felt it was a waste of time, why go to school at all - linear thinking deprive
us from inventing ourselves and only prepare us as slaves to submit. The truth
is that kids get brainwashed at school and the real world in quite different
form educational institutions. In our home
we refer to unschooling where there is no set curriculum and we develop the
skill and talents of the kids as they feel. We focus on the development of IQ
rather that knowledge, which suggest to be more analytical driven than parrot
learning. We do however influence their interest and it should always be
remembered that the pupil must be a kid / teenager before they are treated
as a student. Our homeschooling ends at age 14 when the kids should be prepared for the real
world.
How do we unschool? Unschooling begins the
day that you leave school and realise that everything you learnt was a bunch of
nonsense. Then you start the real world where you have to make all the same
mistakes as your peers to slave the rest of your life trying to make a living.
When you read about all the developments and inventions that made us what we are
today, you find that the invention came first, then came all the formulas to fit
in with what was actually invented / stumbled upon by some genius. Uncertainty
is our biggest fear, which is why nobody wants to consider anything against
common belief. If you think you can do better than the educational system, and
have the time and willpower to your disposal, then do your research thoroughly
and speak to other homeschooling communities for support. We do anything that is
fun with the kids and they have developed an acute ability to use their brain as
kids - this automatically leads to further interests like electronics,
mathematics, geology, astronomy, chemistry, music, etc. Our recipe has proven
that kids can basically teach themselves from a young age, and learn whatever
they are interested in, with some discipline and adult supervision.
