About Hyderabad BACK TO HOME PAGE
History - Hyderabad
Centrally placed in the Telugu heartland, post-independence Hyderabad, the capital of Andhara Pradesh, is a bustling 400-year-old metropolis. This cosmopolitan city is richly endowed with a variety of cultures. The city presents an attractive amalgam of old world charm and the ebullience of growth and enterprise. Beautiful old edifices built in the medieval, coloneal and Indo-Saracenic styles abound along with marble temples of modern India.

This city was gifted with many beautiful monuments by its rulers and even in recent times, following independence, many more remarkable structures have been added.

Recently declared a megacity, Hyderabad is now on the fast track and is soon to become an internationally connected metro. (The international airport is slated to start operations this year). The pace of life, the people, culture, cuisine and language all have a characteristic uniqueness and molodiousness.
