This was originally an Ottoman Railway line from Dobrljin on the Ottoman - Hungarian border to Banja Luka, but after Austria's occupation of Bosnia it was used as a military line.
The firm was established on 24 December 1882 and was merged into SHS Railways in 1918. The network was a total of 101.6km, with the lines being opened as follows:
