The MC_easy is the most powerful of the exotic designs I did. It uses the basic design idea of the MC Stirling technology. Of course the MC_easy acts more
on
gravity than on (kinematic) inertia, especiallly when running slow.
The MC_easy is a very reliable design for LTD Stirlings, because of the few
mechanics little friction is involved. So even a diletantic builder
can successfully build it. Even I built it in only two hours time.
It started running at a delta T of only 16 degrees Celsious and at
100-120 degrees Celsious delta T it speeded up to 300 revolutions a second
(with the help of two springs).
If the vertical operation mode doesn't fit your expectation on LTDs,
the MC_easy can be modified to work in any angle and so even in
horizontal position....but of course with a littele modification.
This modification is to mount a spring that way, that it holds the
displacer in balance (in the middle position best). So gravity acts
against the force of the the spring, but inertia still does the moves.
