Overview:
----During the Clan invasion of the Inner Sphere, the Challenger X MBT tank was born to combat the influx of Clan OmniMechs. Shear numbers wasn't always enough to combat the superior firepower of the Clans. Cysco Industries borrowed the design specs for the Challenger and developed a smaller, swifter, advanced version of the Challenger Tank.
Capabilities:
----The Challenger features an impressive mix of speed, firepower and durability. A GM XL engine powers the tank; though the power plant is quite expensive, it provides the Challenger with enough speed to evade Elemental attacks; a particularly dangerous threat for tank units fighting the Clans.

----The Challenger's streamlined low profile houses a pair of power weapons; a Harpoon 10 LRM linked to the Artemis IV FCS provides long range firepower while the experimental X-Magna Medium X-Pulse Lasers provide deadly accuracy. The pair of Harpoon-2S Streak SRM provide highly effective point defense.

----A staggering twelve and a half tons of Kallon Unity Weave Laser Reflective armor provide the Challenger with unmatched protection. The highly experimental laser reflective armor provides superior protection against Clan long range or any laser attacks. While only providing standard protection against missile and ballistic weapons, it absorbs half of the damage from laser attacks, rendering laser attacks only marginally effective.

Battle History:
----In test simulations, pairs of the Challengers have seen positive results; using the C3 network, one could pursue the mech while the other could sit at borderline long range and harrass it. Mixed with C3 mechs, these tanks could the wildcards in battle. Historically, tanks have been seen as easy battlefield targets by mechjocks; the Challenger uses this to its advantage with its unsuspecting advanced technology.---
