Alice Thornton (Smith)

As evidenced by these photos, Alice was recently married to Dr. Lowell Frederick Smith, formerly of Georgetown, Washington, D.C.

They were married in Alexandria, VA on December 21, 2000 ... the  Winter Soltice!  They honeymooned in Honduras and Williamsburg VA, and now Alice has moved from Charles Town, WV to make a new home with Lowell in Arlington VA.
The Rev. Alice Thornton-Smith will continue her work with the Shenandoah Pastoral Counseling Service in Charles Town and Good Shephard Episcopal Church in Bluemont, VA.  

Lowell is a research manager for the EPA in Washington.

How would you like to be given in marriage by your children ... pretty cool (at our age, that is!). 
Here, Alice's daughter, Katy helps Alice "get it together", and her son Nathan looks after his youngest daughter Megan Elizabeth.

 Flower girls were Alice's granddaughters (Katy's daughter, Allison and Nathan's daughter, Hannah) ... both 2 1/2 and totally precious!
