This website is probably the greatest thing that's happened since winning the state basketball championship in 1961. (Or was it '62?). I am looking forward to checking in and checking out everyone's updated bio. This is fun! I've been living in Philadelphia since 1969 when my husband and I moved here from College Park, MD. (Got married in my senior year of college). We were engaged 2 1/2 weeks after our first date. It lasted 18 years (some of them were pretty good). The b st thing about it was our son who is currently living in Spain. Just got back from a visit there. I work for a direct marketing company that specializes in New Mover Marketing. We compile a monthly list of new mover names and do direct mail programs for our clients. I've been doing this for 14 years after many years of not working. It's a living -- kind of. My husband Jerry and I retired to Quincy (his hometown)two years ago after 30 years in the San Francisco Bay area. We have a blended family of three children (my son, Will, age 31 and his two daughters, Deana age 33 and Kara age 30), two grandaugters, one son-in-law and a cocker spanial named Jessie. The kids all live in California so we have a great reason to get to the West coast. My mother is still in Htg. and I do get there every so often. However, she really likes me to be with her so I don't see many people when I'm there. I will look forward to "visiting" over the internet. Since retirement I have been working parttime as the volunteer coordinator for the Hospice program at the local hospital. Hi Harvey and all, I was whizzing back through the site, which I still believe to be the most astounding and marvelous I've ever seen. Harvey you are THE MAN! I really hadn't planned to write anything today, but I saw my name on here a couple of times and was flabbergasted -- in a very good way. I just wanted to say (blush!) thanks, guys. I have been so greatly rewarded by getting to know some wonderful peopl I really hadn't known in high school, through fault of my own, even though I passed them daily in hallways or sat beside them in classes. Kel McDonald, also HHS '63, gave me this address and I have spent all morning viewing the site -- seeing lots of friends and folks I haven't seen in years. One of my best memories of the class of '62 (that I can tell) was of Frank Booth the morning after the Prom running across 8th Street with his baseball uniform flying behind him as he got ready to jump into a car taking the baseball team to the state (regional) tournament. He still had parts of his tux on and obviously had not been home all night. Co ch Cook had a line of cars waiting to leave - and had held up, waiting for the errant (but needed) first baseman to show up! HHS won the game, but I can't remember if Frank had a hit....

I have lived in Durham for 5 years now, been in NC for almost 30 years, and don't get to Huntington much. I am with the School of Medicine at University of North Carolina. Fuzzy Harrold called today with the sad news of the passing of Sharon Riley's father. Mr. Riley was a great friend to many of us. Fuzzy told me of this page. It's great! Thanks Harvey et al. I've kept up with Harvey through Doug Ivester, President of Coca-Cola and member of our Brenau University board of trustees. I've been involved in independent school education since college. For the last sixteen years, I've been a Dean at Brenau University and Headmaster of Brenau Academy, the only all-girls boa ding high school, preparing young women for college. Our sons, Frank IV and Ben are 28 & 27 respectively and are both bigger than I am at 6'7" and 6'5". Daughter Palmer is nearly 6' tall as a fifteen-year-old ninth-grade cheerleader. What a nice morning I had - looking at the Class of 1962. I sent a note to Harvey Taylor because I think that I may be in one of the pictures. So many names that I remember. (I was class of 1960). I live in Richmond Va with wife No. 2. Have 32 yr. old son living in Charlotte, NC. Have lived in Baltimore, Charlotte, Oklahoma City and Louisville since leaving Huntington in 1966. The class of 1962 seemed to have better atheletes. Most of the HHS footb ll team during my senior year was made up of sophomores. We went 0-10 you may remember. Wish we old folks from '60 had such a site. This is terrific. My brother Alan, in St. Pete, and I were just looking through it together and wishing our classes had same. Would someone be willing to do the "for hire" for other classes? Alan's modem is fast r than my modem. These aren't the things that used to worry me, thank goodness.
