Bringing Hunter back to NBC was something that had been talked about since 1995's The Return Of Hunter TV movie. Well, in 2002, those talks became a reality. The show's return, 2002's TV movie Hunter: Return To Justice, was viewed by over 12 million loyal fans. The movie became the most wached single television episode in television history, breaking the record previously held by the final episode of MASH. The popularity pursueded NBC to bring the show back and ordered 5 episodes and a pilot. Unfortunately, NBC didn't feel they needed Hunter to reach the fan base they wanted and the show was cancelled after 3 episodes.
