HUNTER ONLINE
A Dream Come True

I was fortunate enough to see my childhood dream finally come true on July 18. 2000. I didn't go alone, however. My father is just as big a fan of Fred from his football days as I am of him from Hunter, so I could easily see there was no way he wasn't coming with me.

I'll never forget walking through the door of Fred Dryer Productions and being face to face with the man I had idolized since the age of seven. We all got to know each other with a nice conversation in the lobby, during which, Fred's assistant walked out of one of the offices, pointed to me and said "Yeah Fred, he's the one who made that website I showed you.", to which Fred got a little smile on his face. Then, we saw the trailer for Highway 395. When Fred said "Would you like to see the trailer?", Dad thought we were going out back to look at a real trailer! We went outside to take some pictures and Fred showed us around the office. Then, he was kind enough to sign my copy of the 1987 Hunter Annual and personally hand me his business card.

Thank you, Fred, for being such a role model to me for so many years, for all the memories and most of all, thanks for an experience I'll never forget! I hope someday we can meet again.

On a personal note. Any of you who already know Fred know what kind of person he really is. But for those of you who don't, i'll just say that he's simply a genuinly warm, friendly, down-to-earth person who made myself and my father feel very welcomed and made us feel as if we were just hanging out with an old friend. I know there are some people out there who have accomplished what Fred has in his impressive career. But I can guarantee that few respect their fans as much as he does. Fred's the kind of guy that if all he had to his name was a $10 bill and he knew you needed a couple of bucks, he'd give you the $10!
