Ten Two-Letter Words To Live By...

Welcome to my web site! I started it so that my friends, family, and medical professionals, supporting my weight loss efforts can see how I am doing. Many people have asked me what I am doing to lose the weight. So, what better way to show them than with a web site dedicated to it. I have dubbed myself Hughdini, since I am escaping the ties that have bound me from living the full and rich life that I was accustomed to before my tremendous weight gain. Within the pages of this site you can read about my personal battle with weight. I will share with you my breakthroughs and triumphs, as well as  some very ugly stories that come with the territory when living in this  society as a morbidly obese person. Boy, those have to be two of the ugliest words in the English language. When they are used to describe YOU, It is a label that carries a lot of pain and humiliation.  I am doing this the hard way because I refuse to succumb to the option of gastric bypass surgery. I think that too many doctors are pushing people toward that surgery with far too much haste. I want to be living proof that it can be done the hard way if you want it bad enough. I hope I can inspire others with my story and would consider it an honor to do so. As it would be the greatest gift I could bestow upon anyone that life is passing by, because of obesity.

On the food page you will see the perfect food list. It's hard to find foods low in calories, fat, and salt. But the perfect food list is where they land when I find them. You can also find some of my favorite recipe's and quick meal staples on the food page. The Lifeline page contains some excerpts from my daily journal. I am keeping the journal to have a record of this journey. The lifeline page also contains my workout log and my exercise regimen.
Quake, is my Black Lab. I have raised him from a pup and he has been an inspiration to me because of his high energy. Caring for him requires the same from me. And because I want to give him the best life possible, I do my best to exercise and play with him daily, and take him through professional obedience training classes once a week
My Wife Shawna has been following the same plan as I have and without her support, I doubt things would be going as well as they are for me. We are mutually inspired by each others resolve and dedication. She has lost 70 pounds now, and continues to be a strong source of support and encouragement for me.

This web site is an ongoing project, so feel free to come back often to see what's new!

Thank You to Eric Driessen at the Golf Zone for the free lessons, friendship, and support. You are the best. If you can get a 539 pound man to play good golf. You can teach almost anyone to do it. I highly recommend this guy. He comes from a family of educators, has an enormous passion and knowledge of the game. He has a knack for teaching you the game in a way that you, personally, can understand it best. He brings the game to you, rather than you, to the game. He is special!
