Research: "John Robert Hubbard, son of Leanard Franklin and Mary Bartlett Hubbard
was born in Lithonia (Lavonia), Georgia 2 August 1866.
He was brought to Alabama when he was about six months of age.
He grew up in what is now called Shady Grove Community."

On 21 June 1892, John R. Hubbard of Etowah Co. AL purchased
160.72 acres of land in Etowah Co. (US General Land Office Certificate No. 38821.)
The 1920 AL census shows John R. Hubbard as a widower.
His daughter Geneva, who is living at home, is shown as a widow.
This census lists his farm as #66 on the farm schedule, and that it was owned free.
On 21 Apr 1886 when John Robert was 19, he first married

Martha "Mattie" died in Etowah Co., AL in May 1891, she was 27.3

Zemry Or Zemily "Zem" died in AL in Nov 1918, she was 40.3
