One of Boston's favorite's, the Elephant Walk serves first-rate French and Cambodian
cuisine and offers a fine selection of wines, all at a price lower than the Aujord'hui
or Maison Robert price level and with none of the stuffiness of those establishments.
The Elephant Walk has opened a new location near Brookline, where some say the food
is better. Mom runs the kitchen at the near- Brookline location, where some say the
food is better, while the daughter is head chef at the new Porter Square location,
which also features a market that sells Cambodian ingredients and art items. Slightly
funky touch to an otherwise continental atmosphere and quality service. A Julia Child
hangout, the Elephant Walk earned strong commendations from the New York Times, as
well as local publications. See also: Carambola (11/98)
