Halifax Dartmouth Sackville Bedford History Clans Character Creation Fighting Disciplines

All are welcome to join HRM by Night as long as each follows the laws of the individual cities. HRM by Night is a municipality created from four seperate cities, each city is governored by its own laws and councils or sects. Halifax, a port city, the largest of the four cities is Independent, being ruled by a council of Primogens or Elders. Most of the 13 clans, along with a few bloodlines, have representation within Halifax. The kindred of this city denounce the Jihad as an ancient jest. They are trying to recapture what they feel should have been in the Second City where all kindred live in peace, without disturbing the humans within. The humans are not to know of their existence, for in modern nights their fear and weapons could wipe out all kindred. Dartmouth, also a port city, is the second largest of the four cities, which is ruled by the Camarilla. Sackville, almost the same size as Dartmouth, is ruled by the Sabbat. Bedford, the smallest of the four cities, is ruled by the Kuei-jin “Kindred of the East”.

HRM by Night has a rich history with each of the four cities having entered a treaty which states that inner sect wars will never spill over into Halifax. (For more information on the specific of this non-breakable treaty check under history. You will find the motivation of each sect with the reasons why they have secured this treaty) Beyond the four cities but within HRM by Night is an Airport, which the four cities declared Haven, meaning no one is to be hunted or kill there.

Each city within HRM by Night has their own council, formed by the Elders, which rules their individual cities. These Elders also sit on a council of HRM by Night. The council of HRM by Night is where the Elders discuss ideas for continuing and future storylines. While individual characters may play their own storylines, everyone in these cities, is part of the main storyline.


HRM by Night is being role-played online within Yahoo Chat and Yahoo Groups. The location which we will use is Regional, Canada. All our rooms will all be located within this chat “area”. Each room is to have the city which the room is located and that it is V:tM role-play only, no OOC. Role-playing has started on Friday, February 22th, 2002, 1:00pm EST .

Those wishing to role-play as an elder in Dartmouth, Sackville or Bedford should have access to The Camarilla, Sabbat or Kindred of the East Core books. (If no one comes forward to role-play the Kindred of the East, Bedford will revert to an uncontrolled city, which means it can be incorporated into a storyline for invasion or war by anyside.)

It is the responsibility of the individual elders to teach members of their clans the rules of Vampire the Masquerade and to make sure that, in the very least, they have access to their own clan book.

HRM by Night is based within the world of Vampire the Masquerade. The guidelines we follow are: Vampire: the Masquerade, Guide To The Camarilla, Guide To The Sabbat, Vampire Storytellers Handbook, Vampire Storytellers Companion, Clanbook: Assamite Revised, Clanbook: Brujah Revised, Clanbook: Followers of Set Revised, Clanbook: Gangrel Revised, Clanbook: Giovanni Revised, Clanbook: Lasombra Revised, Clanbook: Malkavian Revised, Clanbook: Nosferatu Revised, Clanbook: Ravnos Revised, Clanbook: Setite Revised, Clanbook: Toreador Revised, Clanbook: Tremere Revised, Clanbook: Tzimisce Revised, Clanbook: Ventrue Revised, Kindred of The East, Kindred of the East Companion. (As new books are published, they will be reviewed to see when they shall be incorporated into this list. (I would like to add Werewolf: The Apocalypse, Hunter: The Reckoning and Wraith: the Oblivion in the future if interests arise)

The rooms within each city shall be used for IC (In Character) role-play only. Any OOC (Out Of Character) talk should be conducted using IM or by other off screen methods. OOC talk disrupts the role-play for others. If you wish to talk OOC feel free to create your own rooms, use IM or ICQ leaving the city rooms for IC. Breaking this rule will result in expulsion. This place is for role-playing, not for rumors, gossip or OOC/IC crossing. If anyone is caught using OOC information IC, may be expelled.
