The Real Harry Potter?
J.K. Rowling's cousin Ben is furious the Harry Potter author refuses to admit he was the inspiration for the schoolboy wizard or give him any of the $774 million she made from the books and films. Ben, 37, was "inseparable" from the multi-millionaires writer while he was growing up, and insists he's the basis for her infamous character, debunking Rowling's claim she came up with the idea while stuck on a delayed train from Manchester to London.
He says, "When I read the first Harry Potter book, my jaw dropped. It was uncanny, far more than a coincidence. I know Jo based Harry on me. I can see so much of the young me in his character. "We used to spend the weekends swapping stories of boarding school life. She was always fascinated about what I had been up to at school and used to love me telling her about the scrapes and escapades I had been involved in."
"Jo and I were inseparable and even today people stop me and tell me I look just like Harry Potter."Teenage pictures of Ben reveal an uncanny resemblance to the actor Daniel Radcliffe who plays Potter on the big screen.

Goblet Filming Closes Down Trains
RAIL bosses shut a scenic train line so the latest Harry Potter movie could be filmed. September weekend trippers were diverted on to buses for an 80-minute journey back from the coast along a road that is single-track in places.
Angry locals described the move as 'madness'. ScotRail were paid around £50,000 to cancel the last trains from Mallaig to Fort William yesterday and today. Hollywood executives booked the slot so the Hogwarts Express could be filmed once more on the line which crosses the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct, near Fort William.
One local said: 'Closing the line on the September weekend is madness.' But a ScotRail spokesman said: 'We managed to keep disruption to a minimum. Passengers got compensation in the form of rail vouchers and Harry Potter memorabilia. It's good for Scottish tourism.'The number of passengers who would use these trains is small and the bus journey takes roughly the same time.' With regard to the fee paid to ScotRail, he said: 'ScotRail aren't making money out of this but are covering costs.'

Hyphen to be the Norm for Half-Blood Prince
As previously stated there will be a hyphen used in the American edition of HBP. However, it has just confirmed it will also be in placed in the British edition. The book will be
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince whether you be Yank or Brit. This decision was made to be consistent with the use of the term in rest of the series. It has been unconfirmed as to weather the hyphen will be used in other editions as well.

Too Early to Cast for Order of the Phoenix
A spokesperson for Warner Brothers told
CBBC Newsround:
As for the next movie, it's far too early to think about casting. We don't have a script, director, start date or casting director and no one will be considered for any role until all these are in place. We don't want children to be disappointed, so we're asking them not to write into the studios. It would be a waste of their time.
The spokesperson also noted that movie extras are typically found through local schools or agencies.

New Section on JK’s Official Site
Jo Rowling has added another section to
her site called the Rubbish Bin, which contains, well, exactly what it claims to: rubbish. You can locate it on her main page by clicking the gum rapper directly between the coffee mug and the notepad. Along with the new section, she has provided a brief summary it, found in the “About” section:
"It is inevitable that amongst all the who-knows-how-many Harry Potter/J K Rowling stories that appear in the press there will be some that are less than accurate. This is a great place to tell you the truth about some of the more-fiction-than-fact articles."
She also includes a rating along with each story, going from “Starting to Smell” to “Toxic”, along with descriptions of each rating. If you keep a sharp eye out, you may also find some clues lying around regarding your scrapbook! Hint: Pen ink spill.

Cross out Hagrid?
For those of you making guesses as to who the Half-Blood Prince is, (I’m basically speaking to the whole of Earth's population when I say that, save for maybe two people dwelling in cardboard boxes in a deep-sea cave somewhere)
MuggleNet has received two different tip-offs that Hagrid is not the Half-Blood Prince:
Two separate MuggleNet readers have written in to say that JK Rowling ruled out Hagrid as a possible Half-Blood Prince candidate at the Edinburgh book reading last August. She revealed this to both readers independently after being asked in the book tent.
MuggleNet also added that both readers have UK-based IP Addresses, as well as “solid alibis”. Like all other unconfirmed news items, treat this as a rumor until we have further information.

Goblet of Fire: 2 1/2 hours!
Rumors have been flying that the Warner Bros. production of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire will be four hours long. While many fans have wished this to be true it is simply a false rumor.
The film, slated for release in November 2005, began filming on June 25. Jamie Waylett, who plays Vincent Crabbe in the movies, posted to his
e-Diary on August 30th that they were filming a scene which occurs about midway through the novel. For the movie to be completed on time and be four hours long this particular scene would have been shot many months ago! There is no way that the movie will be four hours long.

Congratulations to MuggleNet: the Newest Winner of JKR Fan Site Award
The newest winner of the fan site award from
J.K.Rowling.comhas been announced. We at Leaky send our best wishes to to the great group at
MuggleNet. Congratulations!
"It's high time I paid homage to the mighty MuggleNet. Where to start? I love the design, (I currently favour the 'Dementor' layout), the polls (I actually voted in the 'Who's the Half-Blood Prince?' one), the pretty-much-exhaustive information on all books and films, the wonderful editorials (more insight there than in several companion volumes I shall not name), 101 Ways to Annoy Lord Voldemort (made me laugh aloud), the Wall of Shame (nearly as funny as some of the stuff I get)...pretty much everything. Webmaster Emerson, Eric, Jamie, Damon, Ben, Matthew, Rachel, Jaymz and Sharon, I salute you."

New GoF Set Pictures
Emma-Watson.net has 5 great new pictures of Emma Watson and Dan Radcliffe on the set of
Goblet of Fire-- both looking, in my opinion, even more grown up since the premiere of PoA! There are two of Emma and an unknown boy, and three of Dan beside a car. To Locate the pictures, scroll down Emma-Watson.net's news section.
Edit: Just a guess on my part, but I'm thinking that the "unknown boy"
may be Robert Pattinson, the person chosen for the part of Cedric Diggory, but I wouldn't stake my life on it.
