Delegation Training Process

All students who qualify to become part of the UA&P delegation to the HPAIR conference need to undergo the following activities and submit the following research requirements for the purposes of training and ensuring their adequate preparation.
Interactive Training

A Lecture Series on the HPAIR Workshops:

Objective: To invite speakers to lecture on the workshop topics. Aimed at helping the delegate have a fuller grasp of his topic. Each resource person is allotted fifty minutes for lecture and Q&A. The Committee will have two lecturers for each topic.

A Series of Round Table Discussions:

Objective: To facilitate a series of discussions on each of the workshop topics. Ideally, the Committee seeks to invite the lecturer to also participate in the discussion itself to facilitate the discussion after his talk. If the speaker is unavailable, the workshop members must be prepared to lead the discussion proper.

Research Training

A Detailed Outline

Objective: To present an overview on the workshop paper. The preliminary outline shows how each workshop group can relate and synthesize ideas and insights from research, lectures, and round table discussions in one coherent paper.

First Draft

Objective: To present a paper with preliminary answers to the HPAIR workshop questions incorporating the Philippine stand. To make it easier for the workshop teams, the Committee suggests the group to submit a paper, with the stand of the UA&P-Philippine delegation at the latter part of the paper.

Peer Critique (Plenary)

Objective: To present the first draft to other delegates and guests. An open forum to present suggestions, recommendations, and comments follows (around 30 minutes).

Final Draft

Objective: To incorporate the suggestions and criticisms of the half-day peer critique.
