Hot Rod Purple Pickup's Homepage
Hi, my name is George, I'm 58 years old and I live in  Michigan.  I have a nice little garage and enjoy building and rebuilding cars.  I have a 31 Chevy pickup that I built myself from junkyard parts 13 years ago and have driven it over 80,000 miles since then.  I drove it to California in '99 and went on the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour West which started in San Bernardino and ended up in Nashville.  All together, I drove about 5500 miles.  In 2001 I drove the pickup 5700 miles on Power Tour again from Pontiac, MI to San Bernardino and back.  I met a lot of good people and had a terrific time.

Every summer I try to make at least one long trip of 5000 miles or more, usually out west.  I've driven the truck to Bonneville Speed Week for the past 3 years.  I usually take the long way out and back.

I've also got a '61 Rambler American 2 door wagon that I want to turn into a real dependable highway cruiser that will pull a trailer real nice too.  I'm saving that project for after I retire in a year or so.

Some of my other interests are growing a big vegetable garden and when I was younger I built a log cabin from scratch.  I have built a few Harleys too.     I've ridden bikes for 45 years.   I still ride a Harley, an '03 Heritage.

A few things here need to be updated but I can't seem to find the time right now.....maybe this winter.
Sue and Me
Drifter as a pup and at 11 years old, at the cabin.  He was a wonderful companion.  He passed away in June '02 at 11 years old.
Our new dog is Murphy and he's a real character.  I couldn't ask for a better friend.
