The road to the Mall starts from here and a leisurely walk to Chowrasta will be a pleasure trip a room with a viewwith fashionable shops lining one side of the street and road stalls selling mostly woollen clothes on the other. From your hotel, the general post office is just down the corner and the market place just down the road as the crow flies. Foreigners' registration office and ANZ Grindlays bank are just across the road. Other important landmarks like the Municipality building, the Capitol clock tower, Keventers and Planters' Club are within the neighbourhood. Reaching Darjeeling:

By Air: The nearest Airport is Bagdogra which is 95 km from here. There are flights from Bagdogra to Delhi, Calcutta and Guwahati. Flights to Kathmandu (Nepal) is to be operational very soon.

By Train: New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) which is 88 Km from here has rail connections with all parts of India. Darjeeling is connected with NJP by the narrow gauge toy train which takes about 8 hrs.

By Road: Darjeeling is connected with Siliguri by the National Highway 55. It takes about 3 hrs to journey 80 Km. Darjeeling is also well connected with Gangtok (4 hrs.) and Kalimpong (2 hrs.).
