Rain heavy at times with patchy fog. Total 1.77" fell today. Another unseasonably cool day with a high of only 55F. 4: Periods of light rain and drizzle .09" fell. Continued cool with low clouds and fog all day. 7: Steady rain overnight and through the morning. Heavy at times 6-9am. Rain tapered off after 10am, 1.17" total. 8: Heavy overcast all day long. Brief shower about 8pm and a brief heavy downpour about 9:45pm .16" fell in 10 minutes. Lightning to our SW but no thunder. Total rain .18" today. 9: Variable clouds, few sprinkles, trace. THUNDERSTORMS 12: Mostly clouds with some peaks of sun, warm & humid. Strong storm just to the west 3-4pm, no rain fell at this station. Thunderstorm about 5:30pm dropped .28" of rain in 15 minutes. More showers and storms this evening 8-10pm, moderate to heavy rains, another .44" fell. Total rain .72" fell today. 13: Light rains this afternoon 1-5pm .06" fell. Dark skies to the south where much heavier rain & flooding was reported. 14: Showers with some thunder between noon-2pm. Only .10" fell at this station but storms were heavier to the S & E. 17: Cloudy & cool. Periods of rain overnight and through the afternoon. Total rain .44" RAIN/COOL 20: Rain began early this morning and was heavy at times. Showers continued on and off all day with cool temperatures again. Total rain by midnight .82" fell. 21: Periods of rain again overnight another .44" fell. Skies gradually cleared today. HOTTER AND DRIER 24: Clear but hazy and hotter high 87F. 25: Sunny, hazy hot & humid, high 90F. 26: Sunny, hazy hot & humid, high 86F. 27: Cloudy & breezy early, then sunny but cooler with lower humidity. 28-30: Mostly sunny, warm & dry all three days. Thunderstorms went to the S & E of this station on the 30th. JUNE SUMMARY The trend of below normal temperatures and above normal precipitation continued in June. Average temperature was 65.5 F, nearly 5 degrees cooler than last June. Total precipitaton was 5.79"; it was on pace to be as wet as May, but no rain fell the last nine days of the month. Thunderstorms were infrequent and there was no severe weather locally.
