- 2 Hot Wheel cars are sold every second of every day. - If you lined up all the Hot Wheel cars ever made bumper to bumper they would circle the earth over   3 times. - The largest collection of hotwheels is known to be about 25,000 cars. - More than 2.5 Million Hot Wheel cars are sold every week - The highest valued Hot Wheels collection is believed to be worth around $500,000. - Hot Wheels were first produced in 1968. - Since 1968 more than 1 Billion Hot Wheel cars have been produced. - Recently a 1969 Hot wheels  Beach Bomb VW Van sold for $72,000. - 1995 saw the introduction of of the Themed 4 car series.Also introduced was the 12 car Treasure Hunt   Series.These cars are very sought after to collectors & usually increase in value as they are Limited   Editions. - 48 First Editions were meant to be released in the 1998 First Editions but later got changed to 40. - In 1998 the Hot Wheels car on the card was changed to red for a while then changed back to blue.The   cards left corner was also cut off in 1998 to make the cars easily noticable on the pegs. - DC Comics produced 6 Hot Wheel Comics in the early 70`s. - Each year Mattel produces 4 Bonus cars which are obtained by mailing in 4 cards to them.
