So far, from what I've seen, he's a pretty loyal, all around nice guy. He seems kind of hard-headed though. His best friend, apparently, is a Organoid named Zeke.
Blade Liger
Van's very cool looking zoid. Originally, it was a Shield Liger. When you combine its Thruster Unit and its Energy Blades, you get quite a weapon.

Van's best friend. He looks sorta like a mechanical dinosaur. He can bond with Van's zoid to make it more powerful. He's also got rocket blasters.
Fiona
Not much known about her yet, but she seems pretty smart. She looks like she likes Van too.
Irvine
Tough, mercenary type guy. He has some kind of mini camera/telescope thingie on his eye. He's very calm and controlled.
Command Wolf
It's very manuverable, and it's armed with a long range (?), I think, gun.

She pilots a Gustav, which is basically a transport unit. She drives around everyone's zoid. :)

Rudolf
He's the emperor of Guylos. Seems like a nice kid. Pretty smart too. He was "asassinated" by Prozen, but now is hanging with Van.
Prozen
He's creepy. Apparently wants to take over Guylos by getting rid of Rudolf. Has the ultimate weapon, the DeathSaurer.
Raven
The mysterious owner of a black Organoid. Currently rampaging all over Zi in a Geno Saurer, sowing mayhem and destruction wherever he goes. Must have just got his electricity bill.
Shadow
Raven's pet Organoid. For some reason, it looks like to me that he's looking for Zeke, because he wants to fight him. Could just be me, though.
Major Karl Schubaltz (sp?)
This guy trained Rudolf. He was acting under the assumption that Rudolf was dead, but when he found out that he was still alive, he rebelled against Prozen and destroyed the Air Base. It is unknown if he is still alive. Creepy.

He's a commanding officer of the Helic Republic.
